01-Aug-2011

Bahrain International Circuit, ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, held a screening of the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday at Motorox Café in Budaiya.

The event was organised by the circuit’s Public Relations Department, and was attended by dozens of journalists, photographers, Bahrain International Circuit Media Club members and guests.

They watched and cheered on as Britain’s Jenson Button of McLaren-Mercedes won an exciting race in what was his 200th Grand Prix. Button finished the 11th round of the 2011 Formula One World Championship ahead of Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.

Laurent Mador, Director of Commercial Affairs at the circuit, later thanked all those who attended the screening.

Following the race, several valuable prizes, courtesy of the circuit, were given out in a raffle.

Among the prizes won free passes to karting and a Lumina V8 ride at Bahrain International Circuit, as well as gift vouchers to purchase official Formula One merchandise at the circuit’s Welcome Centre.

The winners included Ayman Ali, Ahmed Sohail, Salman Mahdi, Mohammed Kheir and Hamid Al Mahari & Ali  Haji from Media Club.

The next official screening will be held on September 11, 2011, for the Italian Grand Prix, which will be the 13th round of the Formula One World Championship.
