MEDIA MEMBERS WATCH ON AS VETTEL INCHES CLOSER TO TITLE

26-Sep-2011

Bahrain International Circuit, ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, hosted members of the national media at a screening of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix, held at Motorox Café in Budaiya on Sunday (September 25).

The national media members in attendance included professionals from the kingdom’s newspapers, magazines, websites, TV, radio and other media, as well as members of Bahrain International Circuit’s Media Club.

They watched with great interest as German ace Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing inch closer to defending his world title by claiming another victory this season. He won ahead of McLaren-Mercedes’ British driver Jenson Button and Aussie team mate Mark Webber. Vettel’s triumph was his ninth of the year from 14 rounds, with five races remaining.

The screening was organised by Bahrain International Circuit’s Public Relations Department.

At the end of the race, Mohammed Al Awadhi, Senior PR Executive at the circuit, conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all those who were present, and said that the healthy attendance at each Grand Prix screening illustrated the growing motorsport culture in Bahrain.

A raffle was then held to reward those on hand for their time and interest. Prizes included tickets to experience karting and a Lumina V8 ride at Bahrain International Circuit, as well as gift vouchers to purchase official Formula One merchandise at the circuit’s Welcome Centre.

The raffle winners included Hussain Ateya, Ayman Al A’ali, Hameed Al Mahari and a number of Bahrain International Circuit Media Club members.

The next screening at Motorox will be on Sunday, October 9, for the Japanese Grand Prix, which will be the 15th round of the 2011 Formula One World Championship.
