BIC, Sakhir – Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hosted over the weekend (Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27) a group of 60 racing enthusiasts from Kuwait, who battled it out on the tarmac in the GulfRun7 track event.

 

The adrenaline-loving petrol heads enjoyed two days of non-stop action at ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’. Their competitive yet friendly runs gave them a taste of three of BIC’s different circuit layouts, while also getting some action along BIC’s world-class quarter-mile drag strip as well as at the brand new, state-of-the-art Bahrain International Karting Circuit.

 

On the occasion of their visit, Fayez Ramzy Fayez, Circuit Operations Director at BIC, presented a special trophy to Ahmed Al Mudhaf, Chief Executive of GulfRun7.

 

The specially crafted accolade was created in the shape of BIC’s iconic Sakhir Tower. It was given in commemoration of the group’s trust and loyalty to BIC, who have hosted the event for the seventh successive year.

 

Each of the participating drivers also received their very own personal tokens of appreciation, courtesy of BIC.

 

GulfRun was first started in 2005. It was originally intended to be a weekend getaway for the group of friends from Kuwait, who are all passionate about motor racing. It has now become one of the most important private events on the BIC calendar, and the circuit is constantly looking for ways to enhance their yearly track experience.

 

The 60 cars that burned rubber along the track included top brands such as Ariel, Audi, BMW, Caterham, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, Honda, Lamborghini, Lexus, Lotus, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche and Westfield.
