Could it be a case of third-time lucky for Timo Glock? After a short-lived Formula 1 debut with Jordan in 2004, title success in the GP2 Series in 2007 earned the talented German a Formula 1 return with Toyota.

 

Up against the experienced Jarno Trulli in 2008 and 2009, Timo proved his mettle with points finishes and podiums. But there was always the threat that big-budget Toyota would pull the plug on its strugling team, leaving Timo in the lurch again. At the end of 2009, that proved to be the case.

 

Luckily, in self-proclaimed plucky British underdog Virgin, Timo has found a team that recognises his undoubted talents. Although the British-based squad struggled to make a real impression on its first two seasons in 2010 and 2011, the outfit, now known as Marussia, hopes to make a significant step forward for 2012.

 

He has yet to score any points, however, after sub-par performances in Melbourne and Sepang.
