Speed Weekend is the premier multi-championship motorsport event in the entire Middle East.

 

‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, located at the heart of the desert, Friday and Saturday (January 6 and 7, 2012) be staging one of its most popular events held annually on the racing calendar, Speed Weekend.

 

Two days of fun and world-class entertainment awaits the public on weekend at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

 

A brainchild of Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), its goal is to promote the region’s leading racing series and give the Arab world’s top drivers a platform to show off their capabilities in a professionally run event.

 

Speed Weekend is held twice each national racing season at BIC, ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’. During the 2011/2012 campaign, the event’s headliners are the Western Gulf Advisory Supercars Middle East Championship and the Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK Middle East Series. Speed Weekend also includes the BIC 2,000cc Challenge.

 

In years past, Speed Weekend has also showcased the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, illustrating the strong pull it has on regional motorsport.

 

Tickets to attend Speed Weekend are now available for by calling the Bahrain International Circuit Hotline on +973 1745-0000. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased at the gate on both days of action.

 

Entry costs BD 7 for adults for 2 days, BD 5 for race day, children below 12 enter for FREE.

 

All those who attend will be able to witness the  Maserati Trofeo JBF RAK Middle East series, as well as all the thrilling battles in the WGA Supercars Middle East Championship and the BIC 2,000cc Challenge.

 

The WGA Supercars Middle East Championship, backed by Bahrain-based asset management company Western Gulf Advisory (WGA), has already established itself as the top regional circuit racing category in the entire region.

 

Off the track, Bahrain International Circuit promises a long line-up of activities that people of all ages will be able to enjoy.

 

Young children can keep busy with a load of fun things to do such as arts and crafts and carnival games, while the enjoyable atmosphere will be enlightened further by the grooves of live musicians and a DJ spinning tracks. There will also be plenty of food and beverage stalls offering all kinds of meals and snacks.
