Jaime Alguersuari
Not much is known about rising Spanish star Jaime Alguersuari. In fact, for his eight races with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2009, Formula 1’s media garbled its way through a thousand different pronounciations of his name. That half season – especially starting midway through a year in which testing was slashed to ludicrously low levels – isn’t enough to judge Jaime’s talent. But what is clear is that Jaime did easily enough to stake his claim to the second Toro Rosso seat for 2010. Certainly, his 2008 title success in British Formula 3 – a season in which he became the youngest driver to win the crown – indicates he has the right stuff. But it’s still a little early to decide whether we’re talking about the next Fernando Alonso.
