V8 DRIVERS SUPPORT ‘GO GREEN!’ CAMPAIGN
Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir – Thursday 25th February 2010: several drivers participating in this weekend’s Gulf Air Desert 400 took part in several activities in a show of support of Bahrain’s ‘Go Green!’ campaign. Several drivers from the V8 Supercars Australia Championship, including James Courtney, Steven Johnson, Jonathon Webb, Tony D’Alberto, Jason Bargwanna and Tony Ricciardello travelled around BIC facilities to plant seeds and shrubbery in order to support the local wildlife.
In an effort to raise environmental awareness, drivers of the same championship visited Hawar Island to take part in a beach clean up operation in another contribution to the Kingdom’s ‘Go Green!’ campaign. Participants included V8 drivers Karl Reindler, Jason Richards, Paul Dumbrell, Steve Richards, Mark Winterbottom and Craig Lowndes, who traveled to Hawar Island with BIC representative Mohammed Al Awadhi, Public Relations Senior Executive.
