Batelco Racing Team clinched first place in the first round of the Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship.

The event was a three-hour challenge that took place at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.

There was plenty of intense racing between the 21 competing teams, who hailed from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Batelco won first place overall after completing 136 laps on the 1.414-kilometre circuit driving a Sodi RT8 13HP 390cc kart.

BRM Racing came second in the competition while BBK Racing were third overall.

In the companies’ category, BBK Racing surprised their rivals by coming in first place. Blazing Raptors 1 were second and LM Racing third.

Raed Rafii of BBK clocked the fastest individual lap of 1:12.490.

In the third category, BRM were first, ABC Pro-Ice Racing were the runners-up and in third were Motorsport Solutions.

In the professional category, Batelco Racing came first, Rainbows 4 Kids second and Mahla EKT third.

In the women’s category, Mahla Angels came first.

The championship was organised by the BIKC, in cooperation with Bahrain International Circuit and Bahrain Motor Federation.

The championship’s second round will be on January 30 of next year while round three, which will be a 24-hour race, will be held on March 11-12.
