Ferrari ended Formula 1 pre-season testing at the same place they started it: at the top of the timesheet.
Sebastian Vettel set the pace on the fourth and final day of the second test session at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona with a fastest lap of 1 minute 22.852 seconds.
The German and four-time world champion was not only the quickest on the final day; he was also the busiest, completing 142 laps.
He positioned Ferrari in the front of the pack for the fifth out of eight testing days.
Vettel commented on Ferrari’s SF16-H:
"The new car gives us the chance to close the gap. How much? We need to be a bit more patient."
Carlos Sainz Jr. followed for Toro Rosso with a time of 1:23.134, while Felipe Massa clocked a 1:23.644 lap to place Williams in third.
