"I Can See Clearly Now" was originally recorded in 1972 by American reggae singer-songwriter Johnny Nash. It has been covered many times, but none more popular than that of Jimmy Cliff, who released his version as part of the motion picture soundtrack of 1993 motion picture COOL RUNNINGS.
The song is his highest-charting single in the United States, making it to number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1994. It was Cliff’s first single to make the Billboard chart since "Come Into My Life" and "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" in 1970.
Some lyrics to remember on April 1st
I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright),
bright (bright) sunshiny day.
