Porsche maintained their fine form at Bahrain International Circuit on Friday morning after setting the pace in the weekend’s third and final WEC practice session ahead of the Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain!
The trio of Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley steered their no. 1 919 Hybrid to a best lap time of one minute 40.318 seconds in 31 laps of work.
They were 0.488 seconds quicker than Audi Sport Team Joest’s no. 8 R18 Quattro driven by Lucas di Grassi, Loic Duval and Oliver Jarvis.
Toyota Gazoo Racing were third 0.534s behind in their no. 5 TS050 Hybrid, driven by Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson and Kazuki Nakajima.
Setting the pace in the LMP2 class were G-Drive Racing’s Roman Rusinov, Rene Rast and Alex Brundle.
In the LMGTE Pro, the AF Corse duo of Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado were the frontrunners, while in the LMGTE Am, it was the AF Corse trio of Francois Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas.
Qualifying takes place Saturday from 5pm.
