Mick Schumacher led a field of 17 in the second practice of the MRF Challenge.
Son of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, the 17-year-old registered a fastest lap of two minutes 00.467 seconds in 13 laps of work.
Joey Mawson of Australia was second 0.119s behind while practice one pace-setter Ralf Aron of Estonia was classified third 0.422s back.
Rinus van Kalmthout, Toby Sowery, Harrison Newey, Manuel Maldonado and Dylan Young were all in the top eight.
The MRF will next hold its qualifying session on Friday. It will be followed by two races, with another two sprints scheduled for Saturday.
