Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will host an official Rookie Test in association on November 22 for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and its teams.
The test will take place just one day after the completion of the 2015 FIA WEC Six Hours of Bahrain. It will be the first time Bahrain is hosting a multi-team test for the FIA WEC.
Who will be testing?
At the test, the WEC’s Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1) manufacturer partners Audi, Porsche and Toyota will offer up-and-coming drivers the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an LMP1 hybrid car.
There will also be teams testing cars from the WEC’s LMP2, Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance Pro (LMGTE Pro) and LMGTE Amateur categories.
A few drivers have already been named for the tests. They include former Colombian Formula One star Juan Pablo Montoya, who will be testing with Porsche LMP1 team.
Others already added to a provisional entry list are Kiwis Richie Stanaway (Audi) and Mitch Evans (Porsche), and Briton Sam Bird (Toyota).
