BIC holds coordination meeting in preparation for F1 Bahrain GP 2020

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, continued this week to ramp up its final preparations for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020, which is scheduled to take place March 19 to 22 in Sakhir.

As part of the organisation of the highly anticipated race weekend, BIC officials held their annual coordination meeting with representatives from the various ministries and government agencies involved in the hosting of the mega event.

The gathering took place at the BIC premises in Sakhir, and it was presided over by BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the presence of top management from BIC’s different departments.

During the meeting, BIC Governmental Affairs, Security and Safety Senior Manager Beshara Abdu Beshara presented a plan detailing all important issues regarding the organisation of the race. It included procedures of welcoming guests from all over the world to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and other things.

Less than a month remains before the Kingdom of Bahrain’s biggest yearly event, and all arrangements are being finalised to ensure its smooth delivery.

This year’s Bahrain Grand Prix is set to be the second of a record 22 rounds on the 2020 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The 57-lap sprint will be the first night race of the season, and it is the 16th edition of the desert classic while also being the seventh time it is being held under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights.

BIC will also be joining Formula 1 and national carrier Gulf Air in marking their respective 70th anniversaries.
