BIC set for packed weekend of fun experiences with Open Track and Batelco Fitness on Track this Friday, and Track Experiences on Saturday
The action on track at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) continues this weekend with a packed two-day schedule of exciting experiences.
Taking place on Friday (8 March) are Batelco Fitness on Track and Open Track, to be followed the very next day on Saturday (9 March) by the ultra-thrilling Track Experiences.
These widely popular activities are being hosted at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” just days after the historic and record-breaking Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2024. They continue BIC’s busy, year-round schedule of fantastic events.
Those interested in taking part in any of these activities can book their slots from today on BIC’s official website bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
Friday’s Batelco Fitness on Track will be held from 6am to 10am, giving participants a bright and early start to the weekend. This fun, physical activity offers members of the public the opportunity to exercise within the unique and safe setting within BIC, either on foot or on a bicycle. Batelco Fitness on Track is a perfect time out for the whole family or a group of friends, or can even be enjoyed individually.
Runners and walkers will be utilising BIC’s 2.550-kilometre Inner Circuit, while cyclists will get to ride their bikes along the 3.543-kilometre Outer Circuit, with another dedicated area for children’s cycling. The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Payment must be made upon booking. Children under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.
Open Track will be held from 11am to 7pm Friday, giving participants the chance to bring their very own road cars or motorbikes and take them out for a spin at a world-renowned Formula 1 facility. This fan-favourite offering will take place along BIC’s 5.412-kilometre grand prix track—the same raced on by the biggest stars in all of motorsport at last weekend’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
It will start under daylight conditions and end under the circuit’s bright, state-of-the-art floodlights, making for a captivating spectacle for all those taking part.
Open Track is one of the most highly attended offerings at BIC, as race lovers can satisfy their need for an adrenaline-pumping thrill. All this, while having the peace of mind to push their vehicle to its limit within a controlled environment.
Driver etiquette is of ultimate importance in every Open Track activity, so there is no close or aggressive overtaking permitted. Overtaking is by invitation between corners and driving is monitored, with poor or dangerous driving being dealt with swiftly by officials.
The cost to take part in Friday’s Open Track, when booked in advance, is BD82.500 for the full day, BD55 for the half day, and BD22 for a single session. Prices when booking on the day itself are BD93.500 for the full day, BD66 for the half day, and BD27.500 for a single session.
Instructor sessions are also available at an extra cost, while additional drivers and passengers can also participate for a fee.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Track Experiences offers participants a chance to get into the hot seat, either as a driver or passenger, in three ultra-quick cars, including the Renault Clio Cup and the Radical SR1 and SR3.
These activities will be held from 8am to 3pm.
Fans can get an awesome introduction into the high-octane world of motor racing in the Clio Cup Experiences. Stepping into a Renault Clio Cup sportscar, they will be able to enjoy either a drive or a passenger ride in a 1.6-litre, Turbocharged speedster. The driving experience takes the participant onto the track behind a professional instructor in a lead-follow manner, while the passenger experience requires those taking part to simply buckle up and enjoy the ride!
Supreme thrills can also be enjoyed in the Radical SR1 Driving Experience, which is ideal for amateurs and racers alike as the car’s 185bhp engine roars like no other. Interested participants must complete a Clio Cup Drive in order to take part in this activity.
In the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience, fans will be taken from zero to 100kph in about 3.4 seconds, making for a memorable number of laps around the circuit.
The cost to get behind the wheel for the Clio Cup Driver Experience is BD121, while the Clio Cup Passenger Experience is BD27.500. For the Radical SR1 Driver Experience, the cost is BD132, while the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience is BD38.500.
