BIC set for successive nights of motorsport thrills and fitness fun

BIC set for successive nights of motorsport thrills and fitness fun

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will be hosting back-to-back nights of two of its most popular experiences this week, both in the fast lane and outside of it.

As the new season gathers steam at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, the activities for fans of all interests and abilities continue to keep coming.

On Monday (9 October), BIC will be staging the Ebrahim K Kanoo Drag and Drift Nights for twice the motorsport thrills, while on Tuesday (10 October), the velocity will be dialled down a bit but the excitement will stay high in the Batelco Fitness on Track for a fun, physical activity.

Both events are set to take place within a safe and controlled environment. For more information or to book a spot in either experience, visit bahraingp.com or call the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.

Ebrahim K Kanoo Drag and Drift Nights gives motor racing enthusiasts the opportunity to take their very own cars or motorbikes and push them to their limits down the strip, or put on an amazing display of power sliding along BIC’s vast vehicle dynamics area. There is also the option for participants to enjoy both, making for twice to adrenaline rush in a single action-packed event.

BIC’s quarter-mile strip is highly regarded as one of the best in the world of drag racing. It is a part of the prestigious Worldwide Network, under the banner of the U.S.-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). The vehicle dynamics area, meanwhile, features a specially configured layout for drifters. It is surrounded by safety barriers, and it is one of the largest open tarmac areas in Bahrain, making for an ideal venue for drifting enthusiasts to showcase their skills within a secure environment.

Monday’s Ebrahim K Kanoo Drag and Drift Nights will take place from 6pm to 11pm. Registration can be done on site from 5pm.

Both the drag and the drift can be enjoyed for a fee of BD11. Participation in just the drag racing or just the drifting costs BD8. Those who would like to experience the drag or drift as a passenger can get into a participant’s car for an additional fee of BD4.500.

In addition to the drag racing and drifting, also available Monday night is the Dragster Experience—BIC’s most adrenaline-pumping passenger activity also known as “the Fastest Ride on Earth!”

Fans will have a chance to get a taste of pure speed as they are taken from zero to 100kph in just one second while seated in a Top Dragster. The Dragster Experience is available at BD44 for the first passenger, while a second passenger can get 50 per cent off.

Spectators who wish to attend the event can purchase their tickets online at BIC’s official website bahraingp.com for BD2 apiece. Tickets for children aged 12 and below are BD1 each.

Meanwhile, Batelco Fitness on Track offers fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities the chance to work out within BIC’s unique and world-class setting either on foot or on a bicycle.

Tuesday’s event is scheduled from 6pm to 10pm, giving participants the chance to personally enjoy the brilliance of BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights.

The running and cycling will take place on separate track layouts. Runners and walkers will be utilising BIC’s 2.550-kilometre Inner Track, while cyclists will be able to ride their bikes along the 3.543-kilometre Outer Circuit, with another dedicated area for children’s cycling.

Batelco Fitness on Track generates tremendous interest from the local community and the turnout has been great from individual participants and large groups. Those looking to take part are therefore advised to book in advance. All who register must pay upon booking. The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Those under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.

All these and so much more await the general public at BIC all throughout the 2023/2024 season.
