BIC set to host sensational Saturday of on-track thrills

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is set to host a packed programme of exhilarating track activities on Saturday (January 12) for motorsport fans of all kinds to enjoy at the world-renowned Sakhir facility.

“The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” has lined up its most popular offerings the entire day, starting from early in the morning and continuing until late at night.

These include the Ultimate Track Experience, Open Track Night and Jaguar Experience.

From 8am to 4pm, fans will be able to choose from a series of drives and passenger rides that fall under the umbrella of the Ultimate Track Experience and enjoy the thrills around BIC’s 2.55-kilometre Inner Track. Then, from 4pm to 11pm, speed lovers will have a chance to drive their very own cars or ride their motorbikes along BIC’s 5.412km Grand Prix Track in Open Track Night, during which the hugely exciting Jaguar Experience can also be enjoyed.

Those interested in taking part must kindly note that BIC’s products and services are now subject to 5% Value Added Tax (VAT), where applicable, in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Ultimate Track Experience activities include drives in a Clio Cup sports car and in a Radical SR1 prototype, as well as passenger rides in a Clio Cup and an ultra-quick Radical SR3.

The Clio Cup car is a Renault-manufactured racing machine that features a 1.6-litre Turbocharged engine that can generate up to 220bhp and 6,000rpm. The drive can be purchased for BD115.5 while the passenger experience can be bought for BD26.250.

The Radical SR1 prototype features a 1,340cc engine which can generate 185bhp. It launches from zero to 100kph in 3.6 seconds. This drive costs BD126, and completing the Clio Cup drive is a prerequisite to taking part in the SR1 experience.

The Radical SR3 passenger ride will be conducted alongside one of BIC’s highly qualified driving instructors. It costs BD36.750.

Meanwhile, Open Track Night is expected to attract some serious sports cars and motorbikes that are rarely ever seen hitting the streets. Many of these top-of-the-line automobiles will be coming from all over the Gulf, including from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the UAE and Bahrain.

The cost to take part is BD94.500 for the whole night and BD68.250 for a half of the evening. There is also an option at BD31.500 for each single session.

The Jaguar Experience is also on offer during the Open Track activity. Delivered through a unique and tailored drive, the Jaguar Experience has been designed to ensure that all guests are given a dynamic, hands-on and memorable experience on the track in a Jaguar F-Type.

The cost for the Jaguar Experience is VAT free at BD60.
