The Kingdom of Bahrain’s 20th anniversary celebrations in Formula 1 is set to be a truly global event, as Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) gets set to welcome drivers from 37 countries at this weekend’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2024.
Taking place from Thursday to Saturday (Editor’s note: 29 February to 2 March) at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, action is set to take place in four ultra-competitive series, with F1, the pinnacle of all motor racing, being supported by Formula 2, Formula 3 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME).
The event will be celebrating “20 Years of a Modern Classic”, with the 57-lap main event being held for the first time on a Saturday night.
Across all four series, a total of 92 competitors will be suiting up and lining up on the grid in their respective championships. These include 20 apiece for F1 and the PCCME, 22 for F2 and 30 in F3.
The F1 weekend promises a packed schedule of racing on all three days, starting Thursday and culminating with the highly anticipated season-opening grand prix—the first of a record 24 rounds on the 2024 FIA F1 World Championship.
Tickets to this year’s historic event have already completely sold out for BIC’s grandstands.
Fans who are hoping to be a part of the landmark occasion can still take advantage of two of BIC’s hospitality options, The Dome by F1 Experiences and The Champions Club. There is some availability in each, both of which offer exclusive experiences in an unmatched setting.

This will be highlighted by the live musical performances of world-renowned industry icons, including a Friday night concert by multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd, and a post-race, Saturday night concert by superstar DJ and producer Diplo.
