Bryant pair win Classic Challenge Race One in ’64 Shelby Cobra

Oliver and Grahame Bryant continued their dominance of the Bahrain Classic Challenge today at the Bapco Bahrain GT Festival, after winning Race One at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

The Bryants, driving a 1964 Shelby Cobra, clinched first place from pole in the 24-lap event and were virtually unchallenged for the victory.

They finished a comfortable 42.023 seconds ahead of runner-up Guillermo Fierro driving a 1960 Maserati T61 while Benjamin Monnay in a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 completed the podium placers 47.881s back in third.

The duo of Christophe van Riet and Caroline Grifnee in a 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 were fourth, the duo of Edwin Stucky and Ludovic Cholley in a 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona fifth, and Michael Birch and Gareth Burnett in a 1964 Elva GT 160 were classified sixth.

Race Two follows later this afternoon at 4.15pm.
