DHL Announced as the Official Logistics Partner of Bahrain International Circuit
- DHL Global Forwarding and Bahrain International Circuit sign new long-term partnership as DHL becomes exclusive logistics partner for BIC.
- Agreement signed on same day that DHL extends its Global Partnership with Formula 1.
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, and DHL Global Forwarding, the international provider of air, sea, and road freight services, today announced a major new partnership. DHL is now the official logistics partner of BIC.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony in the Paddock at BIC, ahead of this weekend’s FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX 2024. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of Bahrain International Circuit, Sue Donoghue, Member of the Board, DHL Global Forwarding Middle East & Africa and Paul Fowler, Vice President Global Motorsport, DHL Global Forwarding, as well as senior management from both organisations.
The agreement was signed on the same day that Formula and DHL announced that they had agreed a multi-year extension that will see DHL maintain their position as the longest-standing Global Partner of F1.
The new partnership will mean that DHL Global Forwarding will manage BIC’s logistics for international, regional, and local events, with BIC benefiting from DHL’s unrivaled global network, which ensures a comprehensive, efficient and swift movement of goods.
As part of the new partnership, DHL will also support new development at Bahrain International Karting Circuit, with the introduction of a dedicated new garage and retail building, that will have DHL as its title partner, thus supporting the next generation of driving talent in Bahrain.
DHL will also benefit from the global platform that BIC offers to its partners, including a comprehensive range of on and off-track services at the venue.
Commenting on the new partnership, Sue Donoghue, Member of the Board, DHL Global Forwarding Middle East & Africa, said.
“We are extremely proud to be the new official logistics partner of the Bahrain International Circuit. At DHL, we possess extensive expertise in logistics for motorsport and racing events worldwide, while providing solutions that help reduce CO2e emissions related to these transports. We are fully committed to contributing our expertise to this exciting sport, ensuring the delivery of excellence with utmost speed and precision.”
Paul Fowler, Vice President Global Motorsport at DHL Global Forwarding added:
“We are proud to have Bahrain International Circuit as our partner in the Middle East. Bahrain hosted its first F1 event in 2004 and is now celebrating its 20th year, coinciding with DHL’s 20th year as F1‘s Official Logistics Partner. It is fitting that we strengthen this partnership and make it official on our anniversaries. DHL is excited about the opportunity to further develop this relationship and share the motorsport andevent expertise gained here throughout the Middle East region, with the Bahrain Circuit serving as a strong foundation.”
Commenting on the new partnership, Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of Bahrain International Circuit, said:
“We are delighted to welcome DHL as our official partner, as the world’s leading logistics company. Our events throughout the year often have complex logistics requirements and DHL have already shown their ability for the work they have done for us ahead of this year’s Bahrain Grand Prix. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with DHL, as they support us in bringing the best events and experiences to Bahrain.”
