Drag racers set for round two of battles in Bahrain championship

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, hosts on Thursday and Friday (December 20 and 21) the exciting second round of the 2018/2019 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship.

Being the region’s biggest and most competitive drag racing series, scores of participants from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE and beyond will be joining the nation’s leading talents as they go head to head in what promises to be another exciting weekend of racing.

BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip, a member of the prestigious National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Worldwide Network, is the venue for these heated battles.

The participants will be vying for podium places, points and ultimate bragging rights in the various competition classes, including the Outlaw FWD, Super Street 6-Cylinder, Outlaw 6-Cylinder, Street V8, Competition 4.5, Outlaw 10.5, Pro Mod, Index 10.5, Index 9.5, Index 8.5, Street Fight Bikes, Street Bikes, Super Street Bikes

Action in the meeting has already gotten underway with two evenings of Test and Tune being held on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Qualifying is then scheduled for Thursday while Race Day is on Friday. Action begins at 4pm on those final two days.

All are welcome to attend the round. For Qualifying and Race Day, tickets are BD5 at the Start Line Grandstand, while tickets are BD3 for both days at the Batelco Grandstand. Children aged from three to 12 years old can attend for half the price.

The upcoming meeting follows the hugely exciting season-opening round held last month, and it will mark the final action for the calendar year. The 2018/2019 campaign features five rounds in all, ensuring plenty of action until early March of next year. Round three will be from January 15 to 19, round four from February 19 to 23, and then the championship finale will be held from February 26 to March 2.
