Fabulous Friday of fantastic off-track entertainment to be enjoyed by all at F1 Bahrain GP 2022 at BIC

A fabulous Friday (18 March) of fantastic off-track entertainment awaits fans attending the exciting opening day in this weekend’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.

F1’s season-opening spectacle is set to showcase the very best of global motorsport, to be complemented on all three days by a wide array of colourful attractions and fun activities for the whole family.

These can be enjoyed along BIC’s F1 Village vending area, located right behind BIC’s Main Grandstand.

BIC will be opening its gates to the public from 10am in the morning and close at midnight on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday (19 and 20 March), gates will open at 10am and close at 10pm.

Set to highlight Friday’s entertainment programme are back-to-back live performances by globally renowned superstar DJs Afrojack and Don Diablo.

They will be taking to the Main Stage at the F1 Village Friday evening and all those with tickets will be able to enjoy the party and dance the night away.

The concerts are scheduled to begin at 9pm.

Afrojack is a Grammy-winning DJ and producer. He has co-created major hits for such artists as Beyoncé, Pitbull, will.i.am and David Guetta, and was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 50 Most Important People in Electronic Dance Music.

Don Diablo is currently the world’s #7 DJ on the prestigious DJ MAG Top 100. He has collaborated with and remixed for a wide range of artists including Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Gucci Mane, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Travis Barker, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Madonna, Ty Dolla $ign, The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, to name a few.

This year’s back-to-back live performances are a continuation of the world-class concert series BIC has held in past editions of the Bahrain Grand Prix. These have included memorable performances by the likes of Steve Aoki, Carlos Santana, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, the Late Avicii, The Scorpions and many others.

Meanwhile, a number of colourful roaming performers who will be scattered around BIC’s F1 Village and interacting with fans all through the day.

These charming characters hailing from all across the globe include Katastrofa Clown, Papito, Pop the Balloon Man, Toy Brigade, The Eccentrics, Travelling Fun Fair, Abraham Thill, Aras Stilt Band, the Joker group, Colour Dancers, Dr Bubbles, Funky Style Band and Jam Batucada.

There will also be unique fan experiences, thrilling carnival rides like the Ferris Wheel and Ghost Rider, a wide range of food and beverage outlets, stalls selling official F1 and BIC merchandise, and so much more.

Fans attending this weekend’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 will be the first to witness F1’s new era featuring sweeping new regulations and the revolutionised design of F1 cars.

Tickets are still available but only a limited number remain for the University Grandstand and Victory Grandstand. BIC’s Main Grandstand, Turn One Grandstand and Batelco Grandstand have all completely sold out.

Large crowds attend F1 Pit Walk at BIC

Large crowds of fans attended the exclusive F1 Pit Walk Thursday night.

All ticket-holders were treated to the fan-favourite activity, which was held by BIC for the first time after a two-year absence.

Those who took part were able to see the F1 teams up close and in person while they were in their garages, working on their final preparations ahead of the start of this weekend’s racing.
