Fans to enjoy behind-the-scenes WEC access with Open Paddock at next weekend’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain
There’s only one week to go before the Spirit of Le Mans comes alive in the Kingdom at this year’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, the final round of the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The endurance racing spectacle takes Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) by storm on 3 and 4 November, with plenty in store both on the race track and off of it.
Fans attending the weekend’s events at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” will be able to enjoy unparalleled access to the heart of the WEC with an Open Paddock Experience.
The Open Paddock is unique to the WEC extravaganza, and it is a fan-friendly initiative that can be enjoyed by all. Aside from getting to watch the high-octane action from BIC’s grandstands, race-goers will have the chance to go and see what goes on behind the scenes in the WEC Paddock. This is where the participating squads’ team buildings are located to accommodate the series’ star drivers and team members while at the circuit.
The Paddock is also from where the teams have access to their garages, so fans will more than likely bump into the WEC’s biggest talents as they make their way around the facility and also witness team preparations for the racing action.
Tickets to the Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain remain available and fans are urged to purchase theirs as soon as possible so as not to miss out on the special occasion taking place next weekend at BIC.
Tickets cost just BD5.500 for adults and BD2.750 for kids for the two-day weekend programme. They can be bought online at BIC’s official website bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000. Tickets are priced as one of the most affordable ways to witness a world championship motorsport event.
Hospitality packages are also available for the Spirit of Le Mans Club, where guests can experience exclusive cuisine and incredible views in BIC’s Paddock hospitality. Packages are also available to purchase online or via the BIC Hotline.
This year’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the 12th time the WEC will be racing in Sakhir, and the fifth time the event is taking place in its current eight-hour format.
The WEC’s protagonists will be tackling BIC’s 5.412-kilometre track from day to night, making for a brilliant spectacle that flags off under the afternoon sun and wraps up beneath the stars while being brilliantly lit by BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights.
Following the tremendous success of the ground-breaking Green Ticket initiative introduced for last year’s WEC race, BIC and Bapco Energies, in cooperation with the Government of Bahrain, are bringing it back for the 2023 event.
For every WEC ticket sold, a proportion of the revenue, matched by Bapco Energies, will be donated to a fund which will directly support the planting of new Mangroves in Bahrain. This programme supports the national target of quadrupling mangrove coverage across the Kingdom by 2035.
Aside from the WEC action, there will also be top-class racing from the region’s leading one-make series, the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East.
