Fans to enjoy Pit Walk and Autograph Session on Saturday of Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain at BIC

  • Race-goers to see WEC teams up close in their garages in Pit Walk
  • Fans to meet their favourite WEC star drivers in Autograph Session

Fans attending the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain this weekend at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will be treated to a Pit Walk and Autograph Session on race day Saturday (12 November).

The Pit Walk is scheduled to begin at 12noon and continue until 12.45pm, while the Autograph Session will be taking place during the Pit Walk between 12.05pm and 12.35pm.

Fans looking to take part in the Pit Walk are advised to be there early as the gate will close for the activity 10 minutes before the end.

In the Pit Walk, race-goers will be able to see the WEC teams and their cars in their garages while their mechanics and engineers are hard at work.

The Autograph Session will feature all of the WEC’s star drivers, who will each take some time out of their busy schedules to meet with Bahrain’s fans, take pictures, and sign all kinds of memorabilia—making for a truly memorable occasion.

Both the Pit Walk and Autograph Sessions are highly sought-after activities and all ticket-holders will be able to take part at no extra cost. Fans must take full advantage of this invaluable opportunity to interact with motorsport’s endurance racing icons.

Tickets to the WEC spectacle continue to be available and fans are urged to purchase theirs today so as not to miss out on another extra special occasion at BIC.

Tickets cost just BD5 for adults and BD2.5 for kids for the two-day weekend programme. They can be bought online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000. Tickets are priced as one of the most affordable ways to witness a world championship motorsport event.

BIC will be opening its doors to the public Friday and Saturday for two days of non-stop racing and entertainment.

“The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” has lined up a series of wonderful attractions for all the family to enjoy at the BIC vending area, including a Kids’ Zone, stunt performers, a classic car show and live music. Gates are scheduled to open at 10am and close at 10pm.

There will be a number of carnival games for the kids to take part in such as a spin-the-wheel, basketball hoops, a ring toss, Hungry Clowns, frisbee throws and Pirate Stomp; as well as a series of amusing rides including bumper cars, an obstacle course, a miniature train and soccer darts.

Moreover, the children can imitate the look of their favourite superheroes or cartoon characters with face painting, while also getting the chance to play with twisted balloons of all shapes, sizes and colours.

The stunt performers have amazed crowds all over the world, and those who will be coming to BIC include Stannage Stunt Team, Terry Grant and Lee Bowers.

Stannage Stunt Team perform a wide range of manoeuvres on two wheels and four, as well as a number of high falls and tricks with fire. Their shows generate great excitement and are a tremendous crowd-puller, so fans must not miss this opportunity to see one of the UK’s top stunt teams.

Terry Grant is an international stunt driver and multiple world record-holder. Devoted to bringing great stunt-driving and motorsport to spectators around the world, Grant’s accolades include the highest loop-the-loop in a car, the fastest two-wheel mile, and the furthest barrel-roll jump.

Lee Bowers is the UK’s premier professional stunt rider whose control of his bike—performing high and low-speed manoeuvres—continues to impress crowds wherever he goes. Bowers’s signature aerobatics and extensive list of tricks are truly a memorable experience for all those who witness them.

Meanwhile, the classic car show will feature some of the most impressive and rarest classic cars from around the world.

The awesome display of vintage automobiles is being put together by Bahrain Motor Club, which has been operating for 70 years and has an international reputation for having some of the most exclusive cars seen.

The club is a one-of-a-kind organisation that has made many contributions to regional motoring through the years.

Furthermore, there will be live music performed by Blue Batucada to add to the festival atmosphere at BIC’s vending area.

Batucada is a substyle of samba and refers to a percussive style, usually performed by an ensemble, known as a bateria. Batucada is characterised by its repetitive style and fast pace. As is Samba, the Batucada is a Brazilian musical expression with African roots.
