Fans to enjoy plenty of thrills in final two rounds of drag racing at BIC

Bahrain International Circuit is calling on race fans to come and enjoy all the exciting action in the final two rounds of the 2018/2019 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship. 

“The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” hosts Race Day on Friday (February 22) in this year’s fourth and penultimate meeting. The championship finale then takes place the very next week from next Tuesday to Friday (February 26 to March 1) in Sakhir.

 

 

All the thrills will take place held along BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip, which is a member of the prestigious National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Worldwide Network.

Scores of participants from across the region and beyond are taking part. Many are from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE, and they join
the nation’s leading talents as they go head to head for wins, championship points and bragging rights.

 

 

They are competing in various classes including the Outlaw FWD, Super Street 6-Cylinder, Outlaw 6-Cylinder, Street V8, Competition
4.5, Outlaw 10.5, Pro Mod, Index 10.5, Index 9.5, Index 8.5, Street Fight Bikes, Street Bikes, Super Street Bikes.

The fourth round has been going on since Tuesday earlier this week with two days of Test and Tune and Qualifying Thursday evening. Friday’s racing will be held from 6pm onwards.

Tickets are available at the gate. They are BD5 at the Start Line Grandstand, while tickets are BD3 for both days at the Batelco Grandstand. Children aged from three to 12 years old can attend for half the price.

 

 

Meanwhile, those attending the rounds can get a taste of the drag racing action with BIC’s popular and immensely electrifying Dragster Experience. This is one of the circuit’s most unique and ultimate adrenaline-pumping activities, as it takes participants from zero to 100kph in just one second while seated in a Top Dragster.

The Dragster Xperience costs BD42, while in a current special offer, a second participant can join in on the heart-stopping activity for half the price.
