Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, is all set to host an exciting weekend of activities for fans with all kinds of interests.
First up on Friday (Editor’s note: 27 October) will be an extra-special edition of Batelco Fitness on Track, during which Breast Cancer Awareness Month will be celebrated. Then, on Saturday (Editor’s note: 28 October), the fun in Sakhir will move into the fast lane with the latest running of BIC’s widely popular Track Experiences.
Both events are part of the circuit’s packed calendar of events for the 2023/2024 season and all those interested are invited to take part. To book a slot in either the Batelco Fitness on Track or the Track Experiences, visit bahraingp.com or call the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
In Friday’s Batelco Fitness on Track, a fun physical activity awaits the whole family. Those participating will have the chance to exercise either on foot or on a bicycle within BIC’s safe and controlled environment.
This weekend’s activity will be extra meaningful as initiatives marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month will be held during the event. Among these is a Think Pink motorcycle parade, which will take place before runners and cyclists hit the track.
Friday’s Batelco Fitness on Track is scheduled from 9am to 1pm, ensuring an enjoyable time under the sun for all. Runners and walkers will be utilising BIC’s 2.550-kilometre Inner Track, while cyclists will be able to ride their bikes along the 3.543-kilometre Outer Circuit, with another dedicated area for children’s cycling.
With the special programme lined up for this weekend’s activity, a bigger-than-usual turnout is expected, so all wishing to take part are advised to book in advance online or by calling the BIC Hotline.
All who register must pay upon booking. The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Those under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.
BIC’s newly launched Batelco Fitness on Track Season Pass is also still available. At just BD15, it is ideal for regular participants as it grants access to all Batelco Fitness on Track events throughout the season. The pass is thus a great way to save money over the course of the year.
Season Passes can be purchased by contacting the BIC Hotline.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s Track Experiences offers a series of exciting drives and passenger rides in three ultra-quick cars, including the Renault Clio Cup and the Radical SR1 and SR3.
Fans can get an awesome introduction to the high-octane world of motorsports in the Clio Cup Experiences. Participants can step into a 1.6 litre, Turbocharged Renault Clio Cup sportscar either for a drive or a passenger ride.
The driving experience takes the participant onto the track behind a professional instructor in a lead-follow manner, while the passenger experience requires those taking part to simply buckle up and enjoy the rush.
Supreme thrills can also be enjoyed in the Radical SR1 Driving Experience, which is ideal for amateurs and racers alike as the car’s 185bhp engine roars like no other. Interested participants are required to complete a Clio Cup Drive in order to take part in this activity.
In the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience, fans will be taken from zero to 100kph in about 3.4 seconds, making for a memorable number of laps around the circuit.
The cost to get behind the wheel for the Clio Cup Driver Experience is BD121, while the Clio Cup Passenger Experience is BD27.500. For the Radical SR1 Driver Experience, the cost is BD132, while the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience is BD38.500.
