Head-to-head battles set to light up the strip at BIC this week in penultimate round of Bahrain Drag Racing Championship

Head-to-head battles set to light up the strip at BIC this week in penultimate round of Bahrain Drag Racing Championship

The high-octane action continues on the drag strip this week as Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hosts the fourth and penultimate round of the 2023/2024 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship (BDRC).

Just days after the completion of round three, the intensity of the one-on-one battles is set to go up a notch as drag racers from across the region and beyond suit up at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” for the second successive week.

The fight for wins, podiums and championship points is about to go down the wire with only the last two meetings of the season remaining.

The BDRC is a National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)-sanctioned championship, organised and run by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.

This week’s programme is scheduled to get underway Tuesday and Wednesday (6 and 7 February) with back-to-back nights of Test and Tune, scheduled from 6pm to 12midnight. Qualifying will then be held on Thursday (8 February) from 3pm onwards, setting up the pairings for the eliminations on Race Day Friday (9 February) from 2pm onwards.

The action will be held along BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip, which is a member of the prestigious NHRA Worldwide Network.

All are welcome to attend and enjoy the multiple nights of thrilling drag racing. Tickets to Test and Tune cost BD2 per person for each night along BIC’s Beyon Grandstand. Tickets for Qualifying and Race Day are BD3 each, also for the Beyon Grandstand.

Available to fans attending on each night of the BDRC is the Dragster Experience. BIC’s most adrenaline-pumping passenger activity, also known as “the Fastest Ride on Earth”, offers fans the chance to get a taste of pure speed as they are taken from zero to 100kph in just one second while in the cockpit of a 10,500cc Top Dragster.

The Dragster Experience is available at BD44 for a first passenger, while a second passenger can join for half the price.

Following this week’s events, the final round of the BDRC is set to take place 19 to 22 March.
