National Race Day thrills set for Friday at BIC

  • Action-packed schedule to feature Bahrain Motorcycle Championship and Time Attack

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, hosts on Friday (19 January) the first National Race Day of the 2023/2024 season.

This weekend’s event is set to feature two exciting local series, including the Bahrain Motorcycle Championship and Time Attack.

National Race Day is being organised and run by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Club, the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, and the Bahrain Autocross Commission.

The day’s programme is scheduled for a 9am start and sessions will continue until around 4pm. All are welcome to attend. Entrance is BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Tickets can be purchased at the gate as well as on the circuit’s official website bahraingp.com.

National Race Day is bringing together the Kingdom’s leading local championships in one event, making for a packed meeting with non-stop thrills! Action is set to be held along BIC’s 2.55-kilometre Inner Circuit.

The Bahrain Motorcycle Championship is set to feature many of the Kingdom’s leading motorbike racers. They will be going wheel-to-wheel in two different competition classes, including the 1,000cc and 600cc.

Practice is scheduled to be held from 9.05am on Friday for 30 minutes. That will be followed by Qualifying at 10.55am, setting the grid for the intense 18-lap race, which is scheduled to flag off at 1.49pm.

Meanwhile, Time Attack will be held with five different categories hitting the tarmac.

Practice for the first category will be held from 9.38am, with the others to follow. The first heats for each category will then take place from 12.02pm, with the second heats set to be held from 2.25pm.

The podium ceremonies for the day’s events are scheduled to take place at around 4pm.

Five rounds of National Race Day are scheduled for the 2023/2024 season, to be held until April later this year.
