Oman’s Al Zubair makes it two for two in Porsche GT3 Cup at Speed Weekend

Al Faisal Al Zubair remained red hot in the Porsche BWT GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at Speed Weekend today.

Competing in the Porsche BWT GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, the Team Oman ace registered his second win in as many races in the meeting.

Al Zubair triumphed in the 14-lap second sprint after completing the race distance in a winning time of 29m 09.909s.

Michael de Quesada was the runner-up 7.865s behind, while Barkay Besler rounded out the podium placers after finishing 8.868s back.

Each of the top three were competing in the series’ Pro class.

Winning the ProAm category was Leon Koehler ahead of Team Bahrain’s His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifam who was fifth overall.

Team Bahrain’s other driver, Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, was 11th overall amongst 16 drivers and also seventh in the ProAm class.

Earlier in the day, Al Zubair had clinched pole for both of the day’s second and third races of the weekend.
