Phoenix Racing win early advantage in pole battle for GT4 International Cup Main Race

Phoenix Racing took the early advantage ahead of the GT4 International Cup’s Main Race today at the Bapco Bahrain GT Festival, after winning Qualifying Race 1 in their Audi R8 LMS GT4.

The team of Nicolaj Moller-Madsen and Milan Dontje completed 26 laps around Bahrain International Circuit’s 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track. They

They finished 2.791 seconds ahead of second-placers CMR in an Alpine A110 GT4, driven by the duo of Pierre-Alexandre Jean and Pierre Sancinena.

Academy Motorsport Ltd with Finlay Hutchinson and Matt Nicoli-Jones were third with a 13.705s gap from the leaders.

The pair of Sainteloc Junior Teams were classified fourth and fifth while Razoon-More than Racing rounded out the top six from the 21 competing teams.

Phoenix Racing will now look to secure pole position for the Main Race when the field gets back on track for Qualifying Race 2 at 2.45pm.
