Phoenix Racing win Main Race pole after Qualfying Race 2 success

Phoenix Racing’s no. 5 Audi R8 LMS GT4 car, driven by Nicolaj Moller-Madsen and Milan Dontje, completed a Qualifying Race double this afternoon to seal pole position for tonight’s Main Race in the GT4 International Cup, being held as part of the Bapco Bahrain GT Festival.

After gaining the early advantage with a win in Qualifying Race One earlier this morning, Phoenix Racing came back in full force to win the follow-up ahead of 3Y Technology, who are competing in a BMW M4 GT4 driven by Gilles Vannelet and Enzo Guibbert.

Academy Motorsport Ltd were third in the session in their McLaren 570s GT4, with Finlay Hutchinson and Matt Nicoli-Jones behind the wheel.

CMR were fourth, AKKA-ASP Team in fifth and Phoenix Racing’s no. 3 car in sixth.

The Main Race is scheduled to flag off at 5.45pm.
