Three straight days of hugely exciting motorsport experiences await race fans this weekend at BIC
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, will be hosting three straight days of motorsport thrills this weekend, featuring the most adrenaline-pumping experiences taking place both on the track and along the drag strip.
These popular fan offerings are sure to satisfy one’s need for speed as BIC continues its packed programme of engaging activities.
First up on Thursday (14 November) is the Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night, offering head-to-head action down BIC’s world-class strip in a participant’s very own car or motorbike. Fans will then be able to take their vehicles out for a drive in Open Track Day on Friday (15 November), and on Saturday (16 November) they can get into three ultra-quick cars for an adventure like no other in BIC’s Track Experiences.
Those interested in being a part of any or all of these experiences can book their slot online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000. More information is also available through both channels.
In the Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night, motorsport enthusiasts can invite their family or friends for an exciting one-on-one challenge down BIC’s National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag strip. Instead of a standing start, participants will power down the quarter-mile with a rolling speed of 80kph.
Thursday’s activity offers an early start to the weekend’s busy programme. It is scheduled to be held from 7pm to 12midnight, making for a memorable occasion under the stars. The cost to participate is BD22 for each driver or rider. Spectators can watch from the stands for a nominal fee of BD2.
Just as in all happenings at BIC, safety is paramount for all taking part. Cars and motorbikes must thus go through scrutineering before being able to hit the strip.
Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night is the perfect opportunity for an engaging, yet friendly, battle. Both participants will be able to push their vehicles to their very limit within the secure and controlled environment at BIC.
In addition to the Kanoo Motors Rolling Drag Night, also available on Thursday is BIC’s most mind-boggling passenger ride: the Dragster Experience.
Known as ‘The Fastest Ride on Earth’, fans will have a chance to get a taste of pure speed as they are taken from zero to 100kph in just one second while in the cockpit of a 10,500cc Top Dragster.
The Dragster Experience is available at BD44 for the first passenger while a second passenger can get 50 per cent off.
The action at BIC moves over to the track on Friday with Open Track Day creating a buzz.
This experience offers speed lovers a drive like no other – taking their private vehicles and powering them along a globally renowned Formula 1 host track.
Friday’s Open Track Day will be held from 9am to 5pm and it will take place along BIC’s 6.299-kilometre Endurance Circuit.
Open Track is one of the most sought-after activities at BIC. Driver etiquette is of ultimate importance, and there is no close or aggressive overtaking permitted. Overtaking is by invitation between corners and driving is monitored, with poor or dangerous driving being dealt with swiftly.
Those interested in taking part can book their slot in advance at a reduced rate. The cost for the full day is BD82.500, while the half day is BD55, and a single session is BD22. If booking on the day itself, the cost is BD93.500 for the full day, BD66 for half the day, and BD27.500 for a single session. Instructor sessions are also available, while additional drivers and passengers can participate, all for an additional fee.
On Saturday, Track Experiences will give race enthusiasts the chance to get into the hot seat of a Renault Clio Cup, or in SR1 or SR3 Radical cars.
The event will be held from 8am to 3pm.
Fans will get an awesome introduction into the high-octane world of motorsports in the Clio Cup Driver Experience. Participants will buckle up in a Renault Clio Cup sports car – boasting a 1.6-litre, Turbocharged engine – and take it out onto the track behind a professional instructor in a lead-follow manner.
The Radical SR1 Driving Experience is ideal for amateurs and racers alike in a car boasting a 185bhp engine. In the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience, fans will be taken from zero to 100kph in about 3.4 seconds, making for an amazing number of laps around BIC.
The cost to get behind the wheel for the Clio Cup Driver Experience is BD121. For the Radical SR1 Driver Experience, the cost is BD132, while the Radical SR3 Passenger Experience is BD38.500.
