Verstappen sets FP1 pace at Sepang
Max Verstappen marked Formula 1’s return to Sepang International Circuit today by topping the timesheet in the first practice session of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026.
Red Bull’s four-time F1 world champion set a fastest lap time of 1min 37.520secs in the hour-long session.
Verstappen was 0.383secs quicker than George Russell of Mercedes, while Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar placed third 0.783secs.
F1 returns to the track for its second practice session later today at 4pm local time.
