WEC to feature Saturday Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session with chance to meet driver heroes

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, announced today that a Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session will be held as part of the weekend’s events in the WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies.

The event will offer the chance for fans to meet some of the greats of motorsport. They include a whole host of WEC, F1 and other FIA series World Champions, former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button, MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, grand prix-winner Robert Kubica, as well as star drivers Sebastien Buemi, Jean-Eric Vergne, Nyck de Vries, and Stoffel Vandoorne.

The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) spectacle is set to take place this Friday and Saturday (Editor’s note: 1 and 2 November) in Sakhir. The Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session are part of the race day programme Saturday, scheduled for just hours before the WEC season-finale flags off at 2pm.

All fans with tickets to the endurance racing extravaganza will be able to attend both fan-engagement activities at no extra cost.

Tickets for the WEC weekend are just BD5.5 for adults and BD2.75 for children, with grandstand seating. Tickets can be bought online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.

All tickets sold for this year’s WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies will help make a positive environmental impact in the Kingdom, as BIC and Bapco Energies are bringing back their ground-breaking Green Ticket Initiative. This will greatly contribute to achieving the national target of quadrupling mangrove coverage across Bahrain by 2035.

The Pit Lane Walk will be held from 11.45am to 12.35pm on Saturday, while the Autograph Session, which will also be taking place along the pit lane, is scheduled for 11.50am to 12.20pm. Fans will be able get an up-close-and-personal look at the WEC teams and their cars in their respective garages, while also getting a chance to meet the championship’s superstar drivers, take pictures with them, and have memorabilia signed.

The Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session are always well-attended by motorsport enthusiasts in major international events at BIC, and they are favourites amongst race-goers who are brought closer to the heart of the sport.

All race-goers to the WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies will get to enjoy plenty of action in the WEC and the supporting Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East. They will also be able to partake in an Open Paddock Experience – unique only to WEC weekend – and revel in the wide array of off-track entertainment for the whole family.
