BIC announces major music, dance and family entertainment acts for WEC double-header races

  • International dance shows, music acts, roaming performers and kid zone offer fun for all the family performing on both days of race weekends.
  • Tickets just 5bd for adults and 8bd for both races (half price for kids) now available at Bahraingp.com

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has lined up a vibrant entertainment programme featuring a colourful mix of stage acts, roaming entertainers and kids’ rides and activities to complement the racing off the track in the Kingdom’s first-ever FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) double-header.

“The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” will soon be welcoming the Spirit of Le Mans to Sakhir for back-to-back weekends, starting on October 29 and 30 with the Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain and followed on November 5 and 6 by the Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain, with entertainment set to take place on all days.

The stage acts and roaming entertainers will be performing at various times throughout the day on all days of the events. Amongst the top attractions will be the “Hakuna Matata” African dance show, which will have four 40-minute sets per day.

A pair of popular local bands will also take to the stage, including Kushari Band and The Legendz. Kushari Band will be performing twice daily, while The Legendz will be on three times each day.

The roaming entertainers will be out and about BIC’s vending area interacting with fans with their unique acts. These are set to include a Fire Show, an LED Dance Show and a Bongo Percussion performance.

Meanwhile, a fantastic activity area for kids of all ages will be located along the BIC vending area behind the circuit’s Main Grandstand. Young race-goers will be able to enjoy all kinds of attractions, ranging from exciting, adrenaline-pumping rides to face painting.

There will be an ice rink to go skating, a trampoline and maze, plus rides in the Flying Car and Pirate Ship. There is also a Bunny Carousel, an Inflatable Cars Circuit, a Thomas the Train ride, a Dram Land experience and a friendly clown handing out balloon twists.

All this and much more will be awaiting all those attending.

Ticket prices to each race weekend offer one of the most affordable ways to witness a World Championship motorsport event, together with incredible entertainment. They cost just BD5 for adults (BD8 for both events) and BD2.5 for children aged 3 to 12 years old (BD4 for both events). Kids under 3 are free, whilst there are also further discounts available for students, those with special needs and senior citizens. Hospitality packages are also on offer for race day on both weekends. Full details are available at bahraingp.com.

Spectator entry policy for the races will be in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s prevailing COVID-19 traffic light system. Under the current green conditions, entry is permitted to all. However, should the traffic light status change, entry restrictions will be in place in line with Government direction.

The FIA WEC double-header at BIC will see the final two rounds of the 2021 season taking place. That ensures that Bahrain’s race fans will be able to watch history in the making, as the newest line-up of world endurance racing champions will be crowned in Sakhir.
