BIC signs agreement with King Fahd Causeway Authority to promote F1 Bahrain GP 2022

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, has entered into a strategic partnership with The King Fahd Causeway Authority (KFCA) to support the promotion of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022.

As part of the agreement, the King Fahd Causeway and adjacent areas will feature all kinds of promotional branding, including across passport and toll booths on both the Bahrain and Saudia Arabian sides, as well as advertising the causeway itself. The initiative has been done ahead of Bahrain’s biggest sporting and social extravaganza, happening 18 to 20 March in Sakhir.

The on-road advertisements will help spread the word about Bahrain’s upcoming F1 spectacle to all citizens and residents of both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia who are passing through the King Fahd Causeway.

BIC and The King Fahd Causeway Authority also agreed to work together on future initiatives to collaborate on other major events happening at BIC in the future.

Sherif Al Mahdy, Commercial Director at Bahrain International Circuit, said: “We are delighted to be working with The King Fahd Causeway Authority to promote F1 2022.

“The Causeway is a powerful advertising platform to raise awareness for those travelling been Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and we look forward to working together on future initiatives.”

Abdulrahman Almubarak, CEO at the King Fahd Causeway Authority, commented: “A Formula 1 Grand Prix is one of the most important sporting events in the world.

“Motorsport enthusiasts from across the globe flock to such sporting occasions, and this illustrates the importance of the partnership between the King Fahd Causeway Authority and Bahrain International Circuit.

“We have signed an agreement for joint-cooperation to highlight this and it will provide a boost for this regional event.”

F1 fans from Saudi Arabia are invited to be a part of motorsport history in Bahrain and see the opening race of the 2022 FIA F1 World Championship, which will mark the first time the new 2022 F1 cars will be battling it out wheel-to-wheel on track.

In addition, fans will also be treated to F1 Aramco Pre-Season Testing 2022 in Bahrain, which takes place at BIC from Thursday to Saturday (Editor’s note: 10 to 12 March). The last two days of the F1 tests will be open to the public, and tickets are currently being sold for those open days.
