Janne Stiak kicked off the weekend’s events in the WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain, powered by Bapco Energies, by setting the fastest lap in the season-opening Free Practice of the 2024/2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME).
Stiak powered to a best time of two minutes 03.181 seconds around the 5.412-kilometre track at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
He was followed on the timesheet by Colin Boenighausen, who was 0.336 seconds behind, while 0.655s back was James Wallis.
All three drivers are competing in the series’ Pro category.
Setting the pace amongst the ProAm drivers was Khaled Alahmadi with a fastest lap of 2:04.536, while quickest amongst the Masters – the PCCME’s all-new class for gentleman racers aged 40 and above – was Bankcy with a time of 2:05.690.
The PCCME field are back on track for their second practice session at 4.15pm later today.
