Porsche Carrera Cup ME to support WEC action in Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain at BIC

Porsche Carrera Cup ME to support WEC action in Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain at BIC

An action-packed programme of top-class motorsport awaits race fans at the highly anticipated Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain, taking place this 7 and 8 November at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) as the eighth and final round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

While the packed WEC grid of Hypercars and LMGT3s will be the event’s top draw, there will be plenty more to look forward to on track in the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME), which kicks off its 2025/2026 season in support of endurance racing’s premier series.

The PCCME is the region’s most prestigious one-make championship, born and based in BIC and run by world-renowned racing company Lechner Racing.

The series is well-established as a proven path for regional drivers to accelerate their careers in the sport, and ever since its launch in 2009, the PCCME has gained recognition as one of the most professional and successful championships in the Middle East.

In 2023, it was upgraded to the PCCME, making it one of 12 Carrera Cups in the world, and its 2025/2026 campaign will mark its 17th season.

BIC will be hosting two rounds on the new calendar, which is set to feature 12 races in all – two apiece in each of the six race weekends.

Three of the meetings are to be held in support of Formula 1 grands prix, including the fifth and penultimate round, set to take place as part of the support programme for the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026 from 10 to 12 April next year at BIC.

Drivers in the PCCME compete across Pro, Pro-Am, Masters, and GCC categories while getting behind the wheel of identical Porsche 911 (992) GT3 Cup cars.

Following the season-opener this WEC weekend, the PCCME will also hold events in Doha, Qatar, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, and in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Germany’s Janne Stiak was crowned the PCCME’s 2024/2025 overall champion, securing the title with three races still to go, making for a dominant run. Bankcy from Japan became the first-ever title winner in the Masters category, which was launched last year, while Saudi’s Saud Al Saud was the winner of both the Pro-Am and GCC classes. He also helped Saudi Racing claim the PCCME’s teams’ championship last campaign.

Tickets are now available for WEC weekend, which will also feature plenty of off-track entertainment for the whole family to enjoy on both days.

Tickets to the meeting offer tremendous value for an occasion of its calibre – rates that cannot be matched anywhere else in the world for a world championship event under the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

Grandstand seats cost just BD5.5 for adults and BD2.75 for children for both days. They can be bought online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.

Fans are urged to secure their tickets as soon as possible due to high demand, especially with the WEC’s growing popularity amongst fans both from Bahrain and worldwide.

Hospitality packages are also available to enjoy the event from BIC’s luxurious suites. These are priced at BD290 per person, excluding VAT, for the two days. The package is inclusive of dining and drinks, all in a first-class setting of the circuit’s lounge which overlooks the WEC pit-lane and main straight.

All tickets purchased will make a lasting impact off the track as BIC and Bapco Energies are collaborating again to bring back the ground-breaking Green Ticket Initiative.

For every WEC ticket sold, a proportion of the revenue, matched by Bapco Energies, will be donated to a fund which will directly support the planting of new mangroves in Bahrain.
