Verstappen goes top in third F1 practice

Max Verstappen stormed to the top of the timesheet in the third Formula 1 practice session of this weekend’s Rolex Sakhir Grand Prix.

The Red Bull Racing ace clocked a fastest lap of 54.064secs—the best time of the meeting so far around BIC’s 3.543-kilometre Outer Track.

 

 

Verstappen completed 23 laps in the 60-minute session and finished 0.206secs quicker than Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas.

Pierre Gasly of AlphaTauri was third fastest 0.363secs off Verstappen’s pace, while Esteban Ocon of Renault continued his fine showing at BIC by placing fourth 0.389secs behind.

 

 

The rest of the top 10 included: Lando Norris, Alexander Albon, George Russell, Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll and Carlos Sainz.

From 11th to 20th were: Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Charles Leclerc, Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Kevin Magnussen, Nicholas Latifi, Pietro Fittipaldi and Jack Aitken.

F1 Qualifying follows later tonight at 8pm.
