Vettel dominates as media members take home valuable Gulf Air and BIC prizes
Journalists, photographers and members of the Bahrain International Circuit Media Club were treated to yet another memorable experience on Sunday at Motorox Café, as Sebastian Vettel took his second victory of the season with a dominant drive at the Formula One British Grand Prix in Silverstone.
Whilst the Red Bull Racing ace prevented Jenson Button and Brawn GP from a fifth straight win, Jamal Al Sayed, PR Executive at Bahrain International Circuit, thanked the members of the media for attending the official screening and watching the gripping eighth round of the 2009 F1 World Championship and for there continuous support.
Al Sayed added that the superb attendance to the event was a clear indicator of the growing motorsport culture in the region. He later awarded air tickets, courtesy of national carriers and award-winning airline Gulf Air, to the winners of a raffle held for all those in attendance along with prizes from the Bahrain International Circuit.
Vettel’s triumph – in which he was followed by Brawn’s Rubens Barrichello and Red Bull teammate Mark Webber – helped trim Button’s lead on the drivers’ championship standings. The season leader now has 64 points after scoring from a sixth place finish at Silverstone. He is followed by Barrichello in second with 41 points, and Vettel in third with 39.
The next official F1 screening will be held on the 12th of July, as the ninth round of the F1 season takes place with the Santander German Grand Prix.
