Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) continued this week its nation-wide community activities promoting the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2019.
Teams from “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” visited a series of government schools in an effort to drum up even more excitement for the highly anticipated Formula 1 weekend, and inform the children of everything they can enjoy at the Grand Prix.
The youngsters were each given goody bags that contained all kinds of gifts including colouring books, stickers, balloons and a puzzle. They were also told about the “Limitless” fun they can have at BIC on all four days of the event from March 28 to 31, with all kinds of rides and activities awaiting them, such as a massive Ferris Wheel and Star Flyer, a Venetian Carousel, a Mummy’s Tomb haunted house, carnival games, and loads more.
The 57-lap Bahrain Grand Prix marks the second round of the 2019 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, and it is the 999th race in the history of the top flight. It is being held as part of BIC’s landmark 15th season, and it is the sixth time it is taking place under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights as a night race in the heart of the Arabian desert.
Aside from Formula 1, the weekend’s programme also includes action from the FIA Formula 2 Championship season-opener and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East championship finale. Also, there is a wide variety of off-track attractions, highlighted by the back-to-back live performances of Martin Garrix on the Friday of the event and Kygo on the Saturday.
Tickets are selling fast for the Grand Prix weekend, which is set to be open to the public over four days for the first time. Tickets for seating to the Main Grandstand are BD150 apiece. A Batelco Grandstand ticket for all four days originally costs BD120, but there are also two other options for Batelco Grandstand seats. For a ticket to Saturday and Sunday only, the cost is BD100, while for Friday only it is BD60. A four-day ticket to the Turn One Grandstand is BD100 before any discount; whereas University and Victory Grandstand tickets are originally BD60 apiece.
It is worth noting that BIC is covering the Value Added Tax (VAT) on all Bahrain Grand Prix ticket prices, saving fans from any additional expense to attend the Formula 1 spectacle. The prices continue to be amongst the most competitive for any event on the Formula 1 calendar.
