The countdown continues to the region’s biggest sporting and social occasion as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 is just around the corner.
Only 20 days remain (from Saturday, 26 February) until the world’s biggest motor racing stars hit the tarmac at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir for the beginning of “A New Era” in the top flight, with the season-opening round of the 2022 FIA F1 World Championship.
Taking place 18 to 20 March, all eyes from around the world will focus on “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” to mark the competitive track debut of F1’s newest cars following the biggest shake-up of rules and regulations the sport has ever seen.
The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 will undoubtedly be an historic event, with a packed programme of racing all throughout the weekend. Aside from F1, there will also be heated action in the three support series, namely the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.
F2 and F3 are the leading junior categories that help prepare F1 aspirants for the climb up the motorsport ladder, while the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East is the most competitive one-make motor racing series in the entire region.
To complement the racing, BIC has lined up a spectacular off-track entertainment programme for the whole family to enjoy.
This will be highlighted by the back-to-back concerts on the Friday night of the event, 18 March, when globally renowned DJs Don Diablo and Afrojack will take to the stage for separate live performances.
Tickets to the race weekend are selling fast, and fans are urged to purchase theirs as soon as possible online at BIC’s official website bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
Those who buy their Grand Prix tickets before 1 March will be able to enjoy fantastic additional benefits, including free entry to F1 pre-season testing at BIC on 11 and 12 March.
To add to that, they will also have the chance to win one of two pairs of Paddock Club passes for the tests, in a fantastic competition launched by BIC.
The lucky winners will get to enjoy F1 action in a unique, five-star setting with some of the best views at the circuit, with the Paddock Club offering the ultimate VIP experience of exquisite cuisine and a chance to see celebrity F1 ambassadors and so much more.
The competition is open to any retail customer who buys a Main Grandstand or Turn One Grandstand ticket to the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 before 1 March. They will be automatically entered into a draw, and the winners will be selected randomly in a raffle. The competition closes at midnight on 28 February. The draw will take place on 3 March.
Furthermore, all F1 ticketholders will have the opportunity to get right in the action with F1 teams at a Pit Lane Walk on the Thursday evening of race week, 17 March, at 6pm.
After a two-year absence, the Pit Lane Walk is returning, and those attending will be able to experience the F1 Pit Lane and see the top flight’s teams hard at work in their garages preparing for all the action of the Grand Prix weekend. Fans will be able to take pictures and, if lucky, spot one of their favourite F1 drivers in their garage, working with their engineers and mechanics.
All those with tickets to this year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will be able to access Thursday’s Pit Walk at no extra cost.
Ticket discounts are available for the Grand Prix for children aged three to 12 at 50 per cent off, with reductions also available to students, those with special needs, and senior citizens.
