The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix will see an army of roaming performers helping keep race-goers entertained off the track next Thursday to Sunday (March 28 to 31) at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Offering something for everyone, these acts range from musicians and dancers to magicians and stilt-walkers, and each and every one of them will contribute to the “Limitless” fun of the Grand Prix weekend.
This year’s roster of roaming performers includes Dr Bubbles, Tri-Colour Walkabout, Batucada Timba, the Steam Dancers, Circolo Stilt-Walkers, Circus Parade, The Dans, Men-Alien and Rainbow Ballet. But the long list of acts taking to BIC’s Formula 1 Village vending area would not be complete without the Walking Funfair, Rainbow Carnival and Steve and Tom’s Circus Entertainment.
Walking Funfair, also known as Oakleaf Stelzenkunst, was founded in 2004 by Bettina Eichblatt. The following years, they consistently participated in carnival parades in Germany. In 2010, they took a big leap, developing from an amateur group to a professional street theatre company. Since then, Walking Funfair have performed all over Europe. One of their highlights is building technical supported costumes with moving parts like Ferris Wheels and roundabouts, fire-breathing dragons and inflatable, illuminated costumes – perfect for photo opportunities and much more.
Rainbow Carnival are a team of colourful and upbeat roaming stilt-walkers. They are a fabulous, bubbly and fun group that will certainly put a big smile on kids’ faces and those who feel young at heart. With their bright outfits and sunny personalities, these stilt-walkers are guaranteed to make everybody laugh. They will engage audiences and passers-by with their delightful, cheerful conversations that fill the heart with joy. They have been cheering up crowds across the world from Belgium, France, Germany, Russia and the Middle East since 2010.
Steve and Tom are a fun-loving duo who are experts in circus bike action, snazzy juggling, fabulous Diabolo tricks and comedy that will surely draw laughter and excitement from everyone. Steve and Tom promise splendid entertainment all day. Considered as one of the United Kingdom’s best street acts, they are both multi-talented jugglers and circus masters.
All these and so much more can be enjoyed at the fast-approaching Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. Tickets to the race weekend are the hottest in town, so fans interested in attending are urged to pick theirs up at the earliest to ensure their attendance in the region’s biggest event this year.
Tickets to the Main Grandstand are BD150 apiece. A Batelco Grandstand ticket for all four days originally costs BD120, but there are also two other options for Batelco Grandstand seats. For a ticket to Saturday and Sunday only, the cost is BD100, while for Friday only it is BD60.
A four-day ticket to the Turn One Grandstand is BD100 before any discount; whereas University and Victory Grandstand tickets are originally BD60 apiece.
It is worth noting that BIC is covering the Value Added Tax (VAT) on all Bahrain Grand Prix ticket prices, saving fans from any additional expense to attend the Formula 1 spectacle. The prices continue to be amongst the most competitive for any event on the Formula 1 calendar.
