Until WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain

Bahrain International Circuit hosted the Gulf 12 Hours for the first time in January of 2021. The popular endurance racing event brought together GT teams and cars from all over the world competing in the GT3 and GT4 categories. A few big names in motor racing hit the Sakhir track for the meeting, including Bahrain’s very own 2 Seas Motorsport and seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi.

Overview

Bahrain International Circuit, “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, kicked off 2021 in style with its first major race weekend: the Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain.
It was the Sakhir debut for the popular endurance racing event, which is held annually in Abu Dhabi. It brought together GT teams and cars from all over the world, competing in the GT3 and GT4 categories.
A number of big names in the sport hit the Sakhir track for the meeting, including Bahrain’s very own 2 Seas Motorsport featuring a driver line-up that included His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. Seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi was also in the fray, among other stars.
Many of motoring’s biggest global brands were also represented on the grid in the race, such as McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari, Bentley, BMW, Audi and Porsche.
Race organisers are set to hold a second Gulf 12 Hours event at the end of 2021 at the UAE capital.
