Record crowds witness debut win in Bahrain for Oscar Piastri and McLaren F1 Team
• Record-breaking 37,700 race day crowd (2024: 37,000), highest ever single day attendance for race, with 105,000 spectators attending the race weekend (2023: 100,000).
• Over 12,000 international fans attend race weekend, another record.
• Oscar Piastri takes first ever win in Bahrain for McLaren F1 Team
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, today announced a record sell-out crowd for the final day of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025.
37,700 spectators flocked to BIC on race day to witness an incredible spectacle of racing and entertainment, with a total of 105,000 attending over the weekend.
Commenting on the conclusion of the 2025 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, Aref Rahimi, Chairman of Bahrain International Circuit, said:
“I congratulate Oscar Piastri on his victory in Bahrain and to McLaren F1 Team on their first win at our Sakhir circuit.
“This year has yet again demonstrated the incredible popularity of motorsport around the world. Our crowds grow bigger every year and their passion for the sport and energy they bring to the race weekend is profound. This gives us great confidence for the future of this great sport in Bahrain.
“An event of this scale would not be possible without the support of Formula 1 and the FIA, so I offer them my sincere thanks. I also thank the teams, The Bahrain Motor Federation, marshals and all those who enable us to put on the spectacle for fan around the world.”
