Team Bahrain will be looking to fly the Kingdom’s flag high when they compete in one of the biggest annual karting events in the world starting this weekend at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
The Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) 2025 will bring to the Kingdom 400 of international racing’s best karters, representing 60 nations worldwide and battling it out in eight high-octane categories.
Amongst the field are Team Bahrain’s 10 entrants who will be racing in six of the RMCGF’s eight categories. They earned their right to compete in the prestigious meeting after being crowned champions in the 2024/2025 Bahrain Rotax MAX Challenge and the 2025 Sakhir Rotax MAX Challenge.
The Kingdom’s squad includes Tariq Soofi in the Micro MAX, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saqer Al Khalifa and Jude Andrews in the Mini MAX, Demir Abali in the Junior MAX, Tye Mejia in the Senior MAX, Abdulla Sajjad and Abdulqader Qasem in the DD2, and Yousif Alaali, Vedant Menon, and Mohammed Alhasan in the E20 Senior.
Following pre-event formalities from Friday to Sunday (28 to 30 November), the on-track programme will take place from 1 to 6 December at BIC’s world-renowned karting facility, Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC).
All are welcome to attend from 3 to 6 December and enjoy the high-intensity, wheel-to-wheel racing. Entrance is free of charge and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. BIKC will be opening its gates to fans from 10am until the end of track activity on each day, except on December 5, when spectators can access the circuit from 4.30pm.
Racing on all days will begin under daylight conditions and wrap up at night under lights.
The Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2, and DD2 Masters are all classic categories in the RMCGF; while there are also two electric classes in the E20 Senior and E20 Masters.
This year’s event marks the third time in five years that Rotax karting’s most prestigious meeting will be held in Sakhir, following the success of the previous events in 2023 and 2021.
The thrilling battles will be held along BIKC’s 1.414-kilometre CIK-FIA track, which has also hosted world championship events in the past featuring drivers such as Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, George Russell, and many more who are amongst the biggest stars in Formula 1 today.
The multi-day karting spectacle features participants who earned the right to race in the RMCGF after being crowned champions of their Rotax MAX national championships in their respective countries.
BIKC was designed to the highest international standards and is capable of hosting world championship races under the CIK-FIA.
The facility made motorsport history in 2012 when it became the first karting venue ever to host a world championship-level event at night, thanks to the circuit’s high-specification floodlight system.
