Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, is all set for an action-packed programme of non-stop racing this weekend in the highly anticipated Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain.
The season-ending round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) will be opening its gates to the public on Friday and Saturday (Editor’s note: 7 and 8 November) for exciting battles in both the WEC and the supporting Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME).
On-track sessions will also be held on Thursday (Editor’s note: 6 November) behind closed doors, bringing the heat in Sakhir and setting the tone for an exciting weekend of top-class motorsport.
All those participating in this weekend’s Le Mans-inspired events at BIC continued to arrive in the Kingdom of Bahrain today. They were greeted at Bahrain International Airport by BIC’s Meet and Greet staff, who assisted in their arrival formalities and in transporting them to their respective residences across the island.
Preparations at the circuit also went on with the final touches being made ahead of official start of the meeting’s programme.
The WEC is one of the most prestigious series in all of motor racing worldwide and tickets to the event offer tremendous value for an occasion of its calibre – rates that cannot be matched anywhere else for a world championship event under the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
Grandstand seats cost just BD5.5 for adults and BD2.75 for children for both days of racing and family entertainment. They can be bought online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000. Hospitality packages are also available to enjoy the event from BIC’s luxurious suites. These are priced at BD290 per person, excluding VAT, for the two days.
All those attending the race weekend will be able to experience the open paddock – an offering unique to BIC’s annual WEC event. Fans will be able to cross the BIC tunnel from the vending area and access the paddock, which is where the WEC’s star drivers and their teams call home for the duration of the meeting.
On the first day open to fans on Friday, the WEC will hold an hour-long third practice at 12noon. That will then pave the way for qualifying at 4pm, to begin with the LMGT3 class and followed by the Hypercar category. Each will feature regular 12-minute qualifying sessions, with the top 10 of both moving on to their 10-minute Hyperpole sessions to determine the pole-sitters for Saturday’s main event.
Also on Friday, the PCCME will stage its qualifying runs at 11.10am to set the grids for the weekend’s two races, which are part of the championship’s season-opening round. Race one will be held later that evening at 5.45pm.
Saturday’s eight-hour WEC spectacle – the series’ only race of its duration – is then scheduled to flag off under daylight conditions at 2pm, with the chequered flag coming down at 10pm at night.
The PCCME will also feature on Saturday’s programme with its second race of the weekend, set for 11am.
This year’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the 14th WEC race to take place in Sakhir. It will also be the seventh time it is being held in its current eight-hour format. Aside from the WEC and PCCME, there will also be plenty of colourful family entertainment on both days – ensuring that there is something for everybody.
All tickets purchased will make a lasting impact off the track as BIC and Bapco Energies are once again collaborating on the ground-breaking Green Ticket Initiative. For every WEC ticket sold, a proportion of the revenue, matched by Bapco Energies, will be donated to a fund which will directly support the planting of new mangroves in Bahrain.
Bapco Energies is marking a special milestone at this year’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary as title sponsors of the race, which also features Beyon as a support partner.
